The annual Road Runners Banquet was held on March 5th at the historic Flabob Airport, Rubidoux, California, in the Airport Cafe. The building was originally the NCO Club cookhouse at Camp Haan, near March Field Army Air Base during WWII. The building was moved to Flabob Airport after the war. Around 60 Road Runners and guests enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and evening. The venue was great and the food and service was excellent.
Bridget and Dale Wester collected tons of wonderful items for our doorprize raffle and auction. The highlight was a live auction of two (choice of) chassis or engine dyno sessions and a set of Arias pistons. Raffle prizes included safety equipment, racing fuel, gift certificates for a variety of racing and non-racing items and much, much more. (donor list at bottom of this page)
The Top Points Award was presented to Bill Anderson who set two records during our shortened racing season on his "Screwball" sidecar motorcycle. The Top Time Award was earned by the Adams & Winters B/G Camaro with a speed of 182.364mph (Helen Winters - driver). Congratulations!!
