After being parked for approx. 9 years, the 1971 Camaro known as “The Whale” will find its way back to El Mirage in 2011.  The Whale will run as the “Miller & Miller Camaro” as a tribute to Charlie Miller, the car’s builder and long time Road Runners member, who passed away in October 2010.  Charlie dubbed the Camaro “The Whale” because “it is very hard to make a whale of a car that big go that fast!”  With a fresh engine and all new driver controls, the car should continue its legacy of being a steady consistent performer at El Mirage, running in the 180 MPH range on a 200.465 record currently held by the Cohn Jucewic Monza.
